Eileen Tanghal Joins AARP Panel on AgeTech at CES

Black Opal Ventures Founder and Managing Director, Eileen Tanghal took the stage alongside other investors at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.


During CES, Black Opal’s Eileen Tanghal participated in the AgeTech Collaborative from AARP panel, titled "Getting to Yes with AgeTech Investors". She was joined by Daniel Kaplan of Equitage Ventures and moderator Lyne Landry from AgeTech Capital. The panel explored key trends and investment areas in AgeTech. 


The discussion began with insights on what makes an AI company stand out. Both Eileen and Daniel highlighted proprietary data sets, innovative applications, and expert training as critical differentiators in today’s crowded AI landscape. The conversation then shifted to promising areas in AgeTech. Eileen emphasized the transformative potential of advanced technologies such as robotics, machine learning, and AR/VR in enhancing early diagnoses, assistive capabilities, and care delivery. Daniel pointed to the "Silver Wave" and the growing demand for scalable solutions in care delivery. To conclude, the panelists shared traits of successful companies they’ve backed. Eileen underscored the importance of capital efficiency and achieving a strong revenue-to-raise ratio.
